About Me and What I Stand For
-
I earned a high school diploma from Boulder Creek High School, an associate degree from Rio Salado College in 2016, a bachelor's degree from Grand Canyon University in 2019, and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2025. I have a B.A. in Government Studies, and also attended the Defense Language Institute–Foreign Language Center in Monterey, California, where I earned an A.A. in Arabic Studies.
-
I'm a veteran of the United States Army, having served for five and a half years and achieving the rank of Sergeant. As a Cryptologic Linguist, I deployed to Southern Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
-
I am running as a Democrat in District four for US Congress.
-
I started working as a sandwich maker and in movie theater concessions. After that, I became a stockbroker, banker, and mortgage loan originator. I also served in the military. Now that I have graduated from law school, I am working as a public defender.
-
I swore an oath to support and defend the United States Constitution, and that oath has no expiration. As a candidate for OK CD4 and a graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, I am committed to upholding our nation's founding principles: individual liberty and justice for all. Ensuring individual rights, safeguarding liberties, and adhering to the rule of law are the minimum requirements for holding public office. Respect for this sacred document is not just a political stance, it is a responsibility we owe to every generation.
-
The biggest threat to our democracy is our skyrocketing national debt. When Cole took office in 2003, we owed $6.75 trillion; by 2016, we owed $16 trillion; now it’s rapidly approaching $40 trillion. This debt spending now overshadows what we spend on Medicare and defense, ranking second only to Social Security.
As our debt grows and interest rates rise, we have less money for essential services like infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
We need to stop raising the debt limit, cut spending, and eliminate the federal debt.
-
If we want a better future, it starts with our kids. I have a public education. I know education is the greatest equalizer. Every child deserves a quality education, and I promise to fight every single day for Oklahoma's kids. Nearly a quarter of kids live in poverty. Education funding is among the lowest in the country. Two-thirds of our fourth graders are not proficient in reading. That is not just a number—that is our future at risk. We must make sure every student graduates with the skills they need to succeed. Our public schools should be funded and provide free meals. Our kids are the future. They have to be our top priority—end of story.

No. I do not accept PAC money. This is a grassroots campaign made up of individual donors and volunteers helping do the work.
-
Immigration benefits our country, but the system needs to operate more efficiently. We should process work visas, asylum claims, and refugee requests fairly and swiftly, allowing people to contribute to our economy.
Instead of addressing the real issues, we've allocated $100 billion to immigration enforcement, building inhumane camps, and using masked agents on the streets.
We need solutions, not fear; capacity, not more law enforcement; and tolerance, not hatred. I am dedicated to fixing the immigration system and treating all individuals with dignity.

Americans deserve high-quality, affordable healthcare without the fear of insurance denials for necessary care. This change relieves the financial burden of hospital bills and insurance issues. When individuals are healthy, they can work and support their families. Ultimately, healthcare is a human right, and no one, including insurance companies, should take that away.
-
As a public defender, I am passionate about criminal justice reform. I believe the first pillar of criminal justice is rehabilitation, followed by punishment. This is why I am opposed to private, for-profit prisons. When we punish, we continue the cycle; when we rehabilitate, we eliminate recidivism.
Because I support reducing recidivism, I support a living wage, investment in public education, and a criminal justice system that prioritizes rehabilitation. -
Collaboration and the ability to work with others are essential to effective governance and a thriving democracy. However, I will not compromise on ethics and constitutional values. These should be the foundational pillars of our government.
-
Abolish it.
-
I believe in a government that respects individuals' rights to make personal medical choices in consultation with their physicians. Politicians should not impose their personal beliefs on these deeply personal discussions and decisions. A woman's rights should remain consistent regardless of state lines. Being pro-choice encompasses more than just a single policy debate; it involves advocating for healthcare access, resources, and protections that enable women to make safe and healthy choices that are right for them.

We must invest in rural areas through small business programs aimed at agricultural development, eliminating food deserts, industrial development outside major metropolitan areas, and more. We must encourage the productive use of this land and invest in our rural communities. We must make Oklahoma a more attractive place to live and reduce the impact of supply-chain issues on our critical resources, such as food, electricity, water, and heat.
-
Every country has the absolute right to defend itself and its people.
No country has the right to wage genocide. Israel’s indiscriminate bombing and killing of civilians are clearly war crimes, and I believe the United States must cease all economic, political, and military support for Israel until they cease their campaign of violence and aggression.
-
I support the HOPE Act to uphold the right to bear arms while promoting responsible ownership and accountability. As for gun control, I will not take your guns away. Instead of imposing blanket federal rules, the HOPE Act focuses on those who illegally provide firearms to minors or negligently store them. We need to correct dangerous behavior, not loosen laws or increase gun carrying.
I took an oath to defend the Constitution and the Second Amendment, and I will honor that commitment. It’s time to prioritize the safety of America’s children.

The current approach of deploying masked, underqualified agents only spreads fear, targeting families, children, and communities, and it's time to require body cameras and transparency.
Trump claims that mass deportations improve our quality of life, but separating families and instilling terror does the opposite. Children fear for their parents' safety and hesitate to attend school. This isn’t what America should stand for; it’s a harmful agenda that ostracizes anyone who doesn't fit a narrow vision of our nation. We must halt funding for this broken system and push for genuine accountability and oversight of ICE. Tom Cole has shown he's unwilling to do either, instead opting to support a cowardly agenda that limits America's true spirit.

Release them. First, because Congress passed a law requiring it. Second, crimes against women and children are appalling and should not be covered up.
-
A.I. can be a genuinely useful tool. I also recognize that its growth carries serious consequences for workers, for our environment, and for our children. That dual reality is why thoughtful regulation matters. There is much we don't know, and that is exactly the point. I will put in the time, do the research, and approach this with the seriousness it deserves. The goal is not to stop progress. It is to make sure progress is actually good for people.

I initially planned to run for Oklahoma House District 20, but the day Trump took office, he attempted to revoke my sons' birthright citizenship. Over my dead body. So, I canceled my campaign for the state house and decided to run a federal campaign to advocate for my family and others who need someone to fight for them.
-
Oklahoma's Constitution includes a single-subject rule, requiring each bill to address only one topic. This ensures clarity and accountability in the legislative process. In contrast, the federal government often bundles unrelated measures into a single bill, as seen with the "big beautiful" bill, which can create confusion and distraction.
I believe the federal government should adopt Oklahoma's standard. We need to prioritize transparency by voting on each item individually, allowing citizens to make informed decisions and hold their representatives accountable.

Yes, there is a primary on June 16. I differentiate myself from my opponent as a working father of five who understands the challenges posed by rising health insurance costs, gas prices, and grocery inflation. I made the personal decision to serve because I want to make a meaningful difference for the people of Oklahoma while upholding the Constitution and holding others accountable to do the same.
I will work tirelessly in this campaign to unseat Tom Cole on November 3. If you vote for me on June 16, I am committed to making that change happen.
My Name is Mitchell Jacob
I am a husband and a proud father of five boys. I was born in Tulsa, OK, and I am one of nine children born to an incredible mother. I am a fourth-generation Oklahoman and avid swimmer, and I love to read. My favorite series is Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. No, I do not enjoy the TV adaptation. I have competed in two marathons, multiple half marathons, a triathlon, and two century rides.
Professional Life
Like many, I began my early career as a “sandwich artist," in movie theater concessions, and as a busboy. I graduated from high school in 2010. In 2012, I became a mortgage broker, a banker in 2013, and then earned my stockbroker's license in 2014. In 2016, I completed my first associate's degree, and I enlisted as a Private First Class in the United States Army in January 2017. I served for five and a half years as a 35P—Cryptologic Linguist, and earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5). I earned my second associate's degree in 2018 and my bachelor's degree in political science in 2019. Right before I deployed to Syria in January 2020. I transitioned out of the Army in May 2022 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2025.

Quality Education

Respect for Law and the Constitution
I swore an oath to support and defend the United States Constitution, and that oath has no expiration. As a candidate and a graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Boomer Sooner, I am committed to upholding our nation's founding principles: individual liberty and justice for all. Ensuring individual rights, safeguarding liberties, and adhering to the rule of law are the minimum requirements for holding public office. While some may flagrantly disregard these enduring principles, I remain steadfast in my commitment to preserving and honoring the Constitution as the cornerstone of our country's future. Respect for this sacred document is not just a political stance—it is a responsibility we owe to every generation.
Fiscally Responsible Solutions
The biggest threat to our democracy is our skyrocketing national debt. Back in 2016, we owed $16 trillion; now it’s around $36.6 trillion, and interest payments are expected to hit about $1.1 trillion in 2024. This spending on debt now overshadows what we spend on Medicare and defense, ranking second only to Social Security.
As our debt grows and interest rates go up, we have less money for essential things like infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
We need to stop raising the debt limit, cut spending, and eliminate the federal debt. We need to act fast!
