What Do You Think?

This is the place on the website where candidates usually explain what they think and what they plan to do. I am here to lay out exactly what I believe, no fluff. Still have questions? Show up at an event or town hall and ask. It’s that simple. I want to know what you think and what questions you have. My campaign as a Democrat in Congressional District four and my work in Congress will be all about YOU, your family, and our community and country. Never about me.

What I Believe.

Quality Education for all Children

I am a proud product of public school, and I believe that education is the greatest equalizer of our time. Every child has the right to a quality education. As a Congressional candidate and your next Representative, I will fight every day on behalf of Oklahoma's children, the vulnerable, and those who need a voice.

In Oklahoma, nearly one in four children lives in poverty, and the state consistently ranks in the bottom five nationally for education funding per student. Across the U.S., two-thirds of fourth graders are not proficient in reading—one of the strongest predictors of lifelong success. These numbers are not just statistics—they are a call to action. Your children deserve better, and that begins with bold, compassionate leadership that prioritizes their future.

To fix this problem, we must make sure every child graduating from high school in the United States can read, write, and do basic arithmetic. We must reinstate the Department of Education. We must adequately fund our public schools. We must prioritize providing free meals to public school students. We must ensure that children have the tools they need to understand the technology they will use throughout their lives.

Our children are the future, and they are my focus.

I believe in the American dream; I believe that access to basic, life-saving care is a basic human right; I believe that one should not have to work three jobs to survive in the United States; I believe in understanding and empathy over fear and hatred; I believe in Tribal Sovereignty; I believe in State Sovereignty; I believe in a smaller federal government; I believe in personal liberties, individual rights, and strict adherence to the United States Constitution; and I believe in the beauty of our Democracy. I believe in these United States—I believe in you.

I welcome and support all who are chasing the American Dream. Lady Liberty has welcomed countless Americans who now call the United States home. To be sure, people must immigrate to the United States legally—and if they don't, they risk being deported.

Immigration is good for our country—and we are a country of immigrants. Our system needs to work faster. We should be able to process work visas, asylum claims, and refugee requests quickly, fairly, and efficiently. Allowing people to work here, pay taxes, and contribute to our economy is good for both the economy and America.

We allocated $100 billion to immigration enforcement—without fixing our broken system. Instead of hiring judges or building courtrooms, we are building cruel, inhumane camps and deploying masked agents of terror on American streets. This neither makes us safer nor fixes the problem.

America is better than this! We need solutions, not fear; capacity, not cops; and tolerance, not hate. I will work diligently to fix the system and treat all people with dignity.

Respect for Law and the Constitution

I swore an oath to support and defend the United States Constitution, and that oath has no expiration. As a candidate and a graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law (Boomer Sooner!), I am committed to upholding our nation's founding principles: individual liberty and justice for all. Ensuring individual rights, safeguarding liberties, and adhering to the rule of law are the minimum requirements for holding public office. While some may flagrantly disregard these enduring principles, I remain steadfast in my commitment to preserving and honoring the Constitution as the cornerstone of our country's future. Respect for this sacred document is not just a political stance—it is a responsibility we owe to every generation.

Fiscally Responsible Solutions

The single greatest long-term threat to our Democracy is our exploding national debt. In 2016, the United States owed $16 trillion. Today, the U.S. federal debt is approximately $36.6 trillion, and interest payments were around $1.1 trillion in fiscal year 2024. Debt payments now surpass the entire budget for both Medicare and national defense, and are the second-largest expense after Social Security.

As our debt grows and interest rates rise, more of the federal budget is consumed by interest, crippling our ability to invest in infrastructure, education, and healthcare.

1. We must stop increasing the debt limit

2. We must cut spending

3. We must eliminate the federal debt.

The future is at stake, and we must act now.

My Name is Mitchell Jacob

I am a proud father to five boys and a blessed husband. I was born in Tulsa, OK, and I am one of nine children born to an incredible mother. I am a fourth-generation Okie, avid swimmer, and I love to read—my favorite series is the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. No, I do not enjoy the TV adaptation. I have competed in two marathons, multiple half marathons, a triathlon, and two century rides.

Professional Life

Like many, I began my early career as a "Sandwich Artist," in movie theater concessions, and as a busboy. I graduated from high school in 2010. In 2012, I became a mortgage broker, a banker in 2013, and then earned my stockbroker's license in 2014. In 2016, I completed my first associate's degree, and I enlisted as a Private First Class in the United States Army in January 2017. I served for five and a half years as a 35P—Cryptologic Linguist—and earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5). I earned my second associate's degree in 2018, and my bachelor's degree in political science in 2019—right before I deployed to Syria in January 2020. I transitioned out of the Army in May 2022 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2025.
